Hypnosis audio is a delicate balancing act. Using a professional voice actor is probably the single most important thing these apps need and no one does it... The sound of the womans voice in this app is pleasant, but she speaks far too quickly. She slows at the end of the countdown but then speeds right back up when delivering the hypnosis message. The worse thing, though is an amateur mistake so many make... Stretching vowel sounds. "Imaaaaaaagine youre doing x." Relaaaax your body. Feeeeeeel your breath. " Ugh. The worst thing you can do in hypnosis is speak in an affected, unnatural way. The words should be delivered slowly and rhythmically, but not in a way that distracts. Happily, there is very little affirming filler patter... The "Thats right, good. Youre doing great." Stuff. (This has meaning in person but is pointless and irritating in packaged audio.) But she does do this weird "focus on your warm moist breath" thing that I found awkward -- probably just me. On the positive: the app itself is well made and the pay model is, I think, the smartest Ive seen: Pay to get rid of the up front instructions. The music and other sounds are good, too. The actual hypnosis messages on all of these apps are good and not patronizing. Definitely a solid 3 star app.
